Hampidjan Canada Ltd. Dynex

Dynex 75 for Towing Rope:
Dynex towing ropes of comparable size and strength to steel wire are only a fraction of the weight and are ideal for harbour towing. Not only are Dynex towing ropes ideal for harbour towing, but for escort, rescue and open-sea towing as well.

The low weight of Dynex rope means half the deployment and recovery time. It is possible for just one person to handle the rope so less crew is needed to attend the tow line.

Since Dynex rope has neutral buoyancy, only the part on the deck has to be lifted; the rest floats, and in an emergency, a zodiac can be used to transfer the Dynex rope to the ship to be towed.

Both the tension and bending fatigue of the Dynex rope are excellent. This allows a safety factor comparable to wire rope. The normal lifecycle is 2 to 3 times that of other materials. Hand injuries because of broken wires have disappeared and the low handling weight of Dynex rope reduces back injuries.

Dynex 75 for the Off-Road Sports:

Being of comparable size and strength to wire ropes with only a fraction of the weight, Dynex 75 is ideal for many applications within sports and recreational activities.

In Iceland, the use of coverbraided Dynex 75 has become quite popular among off-road enthusiasts as steel wire replacement on off-road vehicles winches. Dynex 75 has proven to be more reliable, far easier to handle and has a longer service life than steel wire. Dynex 75 is also easily spliced and extended if required.

Because Dynex 75 has a low-energy storage in the rope, there are less risks of accidents if the rope fails. Also the lightness of Dynex 75 makes it easier to handle than steel wire. All these factors make for increased safety.

Dynex 75 and Dynex Dux 75 for Synthetic Standing Rigging on Boats:

For a while now, boat builders and riggers around the world have discovered the benefits of synthetic fibres over steel wire in both standing and running rigging. Very efficient in removing weight aloft, not as prone to fatigue as metallic rigging, no corrosion and easy handling in all respects are properties that make synthetic fibres a better choice for rigging in almost every instance.

One of the main reasons why certain critics in the boating industry are reluctant to use synthetic rigging is the elongation factor of synthetic fibres which is too high for standing rigging applications like shrouds and stays that need to be under constant tension. The other reason is abrasion resistance.

Both Dynex 75 and Dynex Dux 75, being Duracoat impregnated, have exceptional resistance to abrasion compared to other synthetic fibres. Even more impressive is the elongation factor of Dynex ropes. Dynex 75 has an elongation factor of only 3.7%, while Dynex Dux 75 goes a step further being heat-treated and factory pre-stretched, thus yielding almost no elongation, making it an ideal synthetic solution to standing rigging applications.

Dynex 75 for Marine Geological Seismic Surveys:

PGS, the world known geological exploration company, is always looking for ways to reset the industry standards in performance and capability.

With that in mind, Hampidjan has developed a haired fairing variant with Dynex 75 as ground material and overbraided with closely-knit polyester fiber braid with fronds (tails) of the same material pulled out at regular intervals along the axis of the cable.

Both frond density and length are variable to suit cable size and service requirements.

Hampidjan has since then been a major supplier of Dynex 75 to PGS.

Dynex Megarope:

Using Dynex Megarope for a purse seine corkline and leadline makes handling lighter and easier. Dynex has four times the breaking strength of Polyester (Terylene) rope of the same thickness.

Advantages for Rigging and Repairs:
- A single Dynex line replaces two made of polyester and is lighter to handle
- No stapling, quick to rig and splice
- Does not stretch, even after long use

Advantages for Handling:
- Quicker to shoot and take aboard; more compact on board as well
- No twisting against corkline and leadline; hanging line does not slip
- Buoyant Dynex improves floating

Other Applications for Dynex Ropes:

Dynex Warps are yet another revolution in the trawling industry with Dynex 75 rope. Dynex warps are the most advanced rope designs for use in fisheries today.

Main Advantages of Dynex Warps:
- Far less warp weight
- The warp floats
- Less fuel consumption due to low warp weight
- Easier rewinding of warps
- Using Dynex warps made from fibres provides increased safety

Dynex Netting when drag resistance counts.

Main Advantages of Dynex Netting:
- Minimal drag resistance during towing and in strong current.
- Strength is very high compared to twine diameter.
- The twine is heavily impregnated, which ensures excellent abrasion resistance, increases stiffness and lifetime.
- The net is knotted with double knots, which prevent complete knot slippage and net distortion.
